Alex Dalglish - landscape design curator

Gift of life, Canberra

Dreamy gardens and lush landscapes enrich the soul and enhance our wellbeing. Landscape architect Alex Dalglish, principal of Somewhere Landscape Architects and Design, has a portfolio of successful projects based on her philosophy of design as a journey that thrills and entices us to go further.

In designing the green spaces for Newgreens, Alex honours the context of the Chatswood site and provides a place of rest and a sense of home for residents of Watermark Residences. The gardens will be an inspiring setting for people to gather in as a community, as well as intimate spaces for reflection.

Meandering through the shared landscape will be a journey of discovery with seating, congregation areas, vegetable gardens, indigenous trees and planting nestled alongside sandstone outcrops. Private gardens at Watermark Residences are thoughtfully designed to feel just like home.

“MY MISSION WAS TO CREATE GARDENS THAT SURPRISE, DELIGHT AND BRING JOY TO EVERYONE WHO USES THEM.”
